Public Health and Nutrition One-Year Internship


Applications are invited for the following one year internship position in our Cork headquarters:


Public Health & Nutrition

  1. Support the communication of safefood-funded research findings in publications  including reviewing, editing and formatting reports ensure both accuracy and accessibility to a range of audiences
  2. Collate information and analyse evidence based papers/reports on specific topics, such as gluten free products and energy drinks, and support evidence based communication to the public.
  3. Represent safefood at external consumer and health professional events.
  4. Contribute to cross directorate projects, team projects and other tasks such as required.


Qualifications and Experience

  • An honours degree in human nutrition or equivalent (must be s member of the Nutrition Society, Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute or British Dietetic Association).
  • Relevant training and work experience for a minimum of 10 months.
  • Work experience in an organisation that focused on the translation of nutrition science into practical advice for consumers and health professionals. 
  • Evidence of formatting and editing scientific reports
  • Evidence of ability to successfully complete a research project
  • Evidence of presenting research findings
  • Evidence of successful team work
