Sage and onion stuffing

This is a quick and easy stuffing to make.
Ingredients - Serves 6 Adults
- 4 slices of wholegrain bread
- 1 medium onion
- 4 teaspoons of fresh chopped sage or 2 teaspoons of dried sage
- 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil
- Black pepper, to taste
Method
- Make the breadcrumbs by blending in a food processor or grating with a cheese grater
- Chop the onion finely
- Heat the oil in a saucepan and add the chopped onion
- Cook gently so that the onion softens but doesn't go brown. Remove from the heat
- Add the breadcrumbs and sage. Add a little ground black pepper to taste
- Press the stuffing gently into an ovenproof dish and cook separately for 15 to 20 minutes just before the turkey is ready
Serving Suggestions
Serve on the side of your Christmas dinner. Homemade stuffing also tastes great in a leftovers sandwich!

Fill no more than 10% the weight of the bird when stuffing.
