Brussel sprouts with bacon

Ingredients - Serves 6 Adults
- 500g /18 oz. of peeled Brussel sprouts
- 100g / 4 oz. of lean smoked bacon cut in to strips
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
- 1 clove of garlic, minced
Method
- Make sure the sprouts have been cleaned thoroughly
- Steam the sprouts above a covered pan of boiling water for 20 minutes or until soft but with still a little 'bite'. Cut one in half to check if they are cooked all the way through
- Cut the bacon into very small strips
- Put 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan and fry until crispy brown. Add the minced garlic and fry for another 2 minutes
- Take the steamed sprouts and add them into the pan with the bacon and garlic and fry together for a few minutes
- Heat an ovenproof dish and keep warm in the oven until you’re ready to serve
Serving Suggestions
Serve on the side of your Christmas dinner
