Abstract:

This research project will employ a mixed methods approach to capture both high quality quantitative and qualitative data to assess the acceptability and usability of a simple, easy-to-use, 200ml reusable cup for portion control within the home setting on the island of Ireland (IOI).

The project will provide safefood with a comprehensive overview of the likely use of a 200ml reusable cup as a portion control tool (PCT), the pattern of its use, and the factors that influence these, which will facilitate evidence-based incorporation of such a tool in recent public health campaigns such as the START campaign (safefood).
