Abstract:

The project will conduct a mixed methods exploratory analysis to identify why adults on the Island of Ireland may / may not choose to take a food supplement(s). Data collected will be used to gain a better understanding of the personal, social and psychological factors that influence supplement use in an adult population, employing the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB). The TPB provides a framework to examine the factors influencing adult’s intentions to use dietary supplements. A total of 3 major tasks will be undertaken to achieve the study objectives.
