Healthy Venues Award: Encouraging venues to Facilitate Healthier Choices

The Healthy Venues Award, in conjunction with the World Obesity Forum, are encouraging conference centres around the world to make changes that help delegates make healthier choices. The Healthy Venues Award prioritises workplace health and wellbeing by encouraging venues to offer healthy food options and encourage the use of stairs and outside facilities.

The aim of the accreditation is to create “a network of meeting/conference venues committed to providing facilities that help people live a better life”. Currently only three venues worldwide have met the standards for accreditation.

It is key that the current healthy eating guidelines and physical activity guidelines are promoted in the workplace. At the recent All-island Obesity Action Forum: Nudge, nudge, presenters discussed the importance of workplace health & wellbeing and how employers can facilitate healthier choices for employees.
