A systematic review and meta-analysis carried out by researchers from the Imperial College London confirm that fruit and vegetables are associated with reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer and all-cause mortality. Reductions in risk were observed up to 800g/day (10 servings a day) for all outcomes except cancer (600g/day or 7.5 portions).
This findings support the public health recommendations to include plenty of fruit and vegetables in our diet.
