New advice for vitamin D supplementation

The HSE, Department of Health and Children and Food Safety Authority of Ireland have issued new advice on vitamin D in the Republic of Ireland. All infants under 12 months, whether breastfed or formula fed, should be given 5 micrograms of vitamin D3 every day.

You can find more information about this and other aspects of infant feeding on the safefood website in our section on infants. Advice for Northern Ireland has not changed.
