Effect of reducing total fat intake on body weight

A low fat diet works for achieving a healthier body weight. Results from a recent meta-analysis and systematic review suggest that lower total fat intake leads to more weight loss than a diet where total intake isn’t reduced. The average weight loss although small had a positive impact on health. Evidence supports a similar effect in children and young people.
