Carbohydrates and mortality

For many people who have tried to lose weight a low carbohydrate diet is a popular approach. A study was published in The Lancet last week that asked the question of whether carbohydrate intake is linked to  mortality i.e. How long people live.

The study found that a low carbohydrate diet and a high carbohydrate diet was associated with a higher risk of mortality. Including a moderate amount of carbohydrate (50% calories) was associated with the lowest risk.
