safefood Operation Transformation roadshow to visit Limerick

Monday 14 January, 2013. Limerick is the second location for the safefood Operation Transformation roadshow this Saturday 26 at the Crescent Shopping Centre from 12pm to 3.30pm, and everyone is welcome to come along. The aim of the roadshow is to help people around the country to actually get involved in healthy eating and physical activity in a fun, interactive and engaging way.

safefood experts will be on hand to provide practical advice on topics like portion sizes, calorie swaps and healthy eating for long-term weight loss and there will be games, quizzes and much more. Dieticians from the Irish Nutrition & Dietetic Institute (INDI) will also be lending their support. Visitors to the roadshow also have the opportunity to take part in a free workout with the programme’s very own fitness expert, Karl Henry, and meet and support Munster’s own Operation Transformation leader, Greg Starr from Aglish, Co. Tipperary.

I’m really excited about being a leader on Operation Transformation and flying the flag for Tipperary and Limerick,”

said Greg.  “I know it’s going to be tough but it will be worth it in the end. I’ll be at the roadshow in the Crescent Shopping Centre, Limerick and would be delighted to meet people for a chat and all the words of encouragement they can offer.  There are so many other people like me who want to lose weight and become healthier and I think this roadshow will help people get on the right track.”
