The Food Pyramid

The Food Pyramid, designed to make healthy eating easier, was updated by the Department of Health in 2016.

The top shelf of foods and drinks which are all high in fat, salt and sugar is now seperated. The vegetables, salad and fruit shelf is now the base of the pyramid. The wholemeal cereals and breads, potatoes, pasta and rice shelf moves up from the bottom because the number of servings has been reduced. The serving size for these has increased, and the range of servings for these has changed too.
