Shine is a community of individuals, families, friends, and professionals, sharing achievements, challenges and information on living with hydrocephalus, and/or spina bifida, and related issues.

A campaign started by Shine in 2011, to help raise vital awareness among all women of childbearing age about the importance of taking folic acid before becoming pregnant.

Founded by people with spina bifida and hydrocephalus and their families in 1979. Over the years, it has grown from a voluntary association into a professional disabled people’s organisation.
