Deciphering food labelling
This food labelling resource aims to give students a better understanding of food labels and how to use them to make healthy and safe food choices
The resource is a direct result of a recommendation of an expert working group established by the Minister for Agriculture and Food (ROI) in 2002. It was developed in ROI in conjunction with the Social, Personal and Health Education (SPHE) support service.

Food labelling, Nutrients, the Food Pyramid (ROI)
The book provides three lessons: “What is a food label?” “Knowing your nutrients” and “The Food Pyramid & Food Additives” (ROI).
The book also includes suggestions for class activities, discussion topics and homework, which will encourage the application of this information to relevant, real-life situations.
